I’m Lori (the one in glasses). I edited cookbooks for years at America’s Test Kitchen, where I worked with some of the best editors and cooks in the business—and ate a lot of amazing food. Before that, I was an editor at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. As a literary agent with Aevitas Creative Management, I represent both fiction and non-fiction, though I still love food and cookbooks. I am particularly drawn to psychological/domestic suspense–dark and twisty is great. Megan Abbott and Patricia Highsmith are two of my favorite writers in this genre. I also like mainstream fiction that explores family dynamics and romantic relationships, but not romance per se, especially if they are funny (a la Bridget Jones’s Diary) or tragic (Love Story, Atonement, Me Before You).
